Important Dates/Times
Registration Start – Wednesday, December 23, 2020 Registration Ends – Saturday, January 23, 2021 Shiping Entries Start – Wednesday, December 23, 2020 Shipping Entries End – Saturday, January 23, 2021 Entry Receipt Deadline – Saturday, January 23, 2021 Preliminary Judging – Time TBA, Dates subject to change Session 1 – Saturday February 6, 2021 Session 2 – Saturday February 13, 2021 Session 3 – Saturday February 20, 2021 Session 4 – Wednesday February 24, 2021 Competition BoS Judging – Saturday February 27, 2021 Awards and Raffle – Saturday February 27, 2021 The competition is limited to 200 Paid Entries. Please be aware that an entry might be registered but still not qualify for the competition because payment was not completed before the competition limit was reached. The competition is limited to ten (10) entries per subcategory. This is being done so that we can avoid having mini best of show rounds on individual flights. Since we are judging virtual because of COVID-19 we will not be able to have mini BOS. By only having ten entries in each subcategory our largest flights should be ten entries which can be judged by one pair of judges. For example, in category 21 – IPA we will accept ten (10) entries in subcategory 21A – American IPA and ten (10) entries in subcategory 21B – Speciality IPA. Every entry must include three (3) glass bottles that hold a minimum of 10 ounces (296 ml) by volume. The container must be no more than 2.75 inches (7 cm) in diameter and no more than 9 inches (23 cm) in height, to ensure that they will fit in standard longneck case box slot. Since we will be judging virtually this year we need 3 bottles per entry. One bottle will be given to each judge for the preliminary judging session, and one bottle will be used for Best of Show should the entry advance to Best of Show. Entries that do not advance to Best of Show will not be returned.

Sanctioning
This Event is sanctioned by the American Homebrewers Association and judged using the 2015 Beer Judge Certification Prpgram Style Guidelines. Detailed style descriptions may be found on the BJCP webpage. Entries will be accepted in all categories this year. Beer styles will have a separate Best of Show from the Cider and Mead styles. Entrants may enter up to 8 beers as they like but are restricted to one entry per sub-category. Entrants are responsible for placing their beer in the proper category. No entry will be reclassified. Entries will be judged according to the style originally indicated by the brewer. Some categories may be combined or split at the organizer's discretion. We are proud to be a part of the MidSouth Series which is Mid-South Homebrewer of the Year and Club of the Year. |
